The STC, or Semiconductor Test Consortium, was founded in 2003 to create an open architecture for testers, similar to that for PCs. That accomplished, they've now broadened their goals to create more common standards. In this video series, you hear from Bob Helsel of the STC, Don Edenfeld of Intel, and Rudra Kar of Advantest, who discuss why they have broadened their scope and what it all means. Don talks about the benefits of standards from a customer perspective, while Rudra focuses on the benefits from a vendor perspective. In the Q&A session, hot topics like the possibility of an open architecture for memory testing are addressed.
